I've been meaning to do this for a while, but have never got round to it. I have no self discipline to make myself post regularly, and most of what I write is pointless inane twaddle anyway.

So I'm going to write about my pointless inane opinions on football, as it is more or less the only thing that interests me enough to be able to write about, so we'll see how that goes.

Anyway, today sees West Ham face Chelsea. West Ham have lost their first 3 games, and have looked useless, particularly against Bolton, who spanked them, especially after they missed a penalty. Avram Grant has been moaning about his squad and that it is lopsided.

West Ham sacked Gianluca Nani, their technical director in February, because all of his transfer dealings were crap. One of the Davids that owns the club has decided that he knows better. I have a distinct mistrust of technical directors, as they very rarely seem to work, especially in England. In Italy, where the position is more normal, I only ever read reports of Technical Directors who fail. They all fail here.

Managers, rather than coaches, as we have here need to be able to build the squad that they want in order for them to do their job properly. Avram Grant seems to be just a coach, and therefore should not get so much flak for his failing side.
